    A Love Bigger Than Self-Hatred

Probably the most common complaint against Christians is that we are judgmental hypocrites. While unfortunately, that can be the case in some religious circles, freedom from judgment is one of the most beautiful things about a relationship with God. And more than freedom from the condemnation of others, faith in Christ offers something even more elusive: freedom from the guilt and self-hatred that we often put on ourselves. Adulterous Woman – John 8 One of my favorite stories from the Gospels is about a woman caught in adultery. The Pharisees bring her before Jesus, reminding him that Moses commanded such sinners to be stoned. Jesus responds, “Let him who is without…

Existential Phases Everyone Goes Through In College

Did I Make The Right Choice? In high school, everyone makes you feel like choosing a college will be the biggest decision of your life. Teachers, parents, and counselors encourage you to take prep courses, do extracurriculars, and do community service to be able to have your pick of higher education. However, the truth is that one day, your college choice will become one line on your resume. Yes, you will presumably be spending the next four years there…unless you transfer. No decision is irreversible. Will Harvard look better than clown college when you are trying to get a job? Probably. However, as long as you have some experience or…

7 Simple Gadgets And Appliances That Make Your Life Better

    1. Towel Warmer We all know the feeling of pulling back the curtain after a nice warm shower only to be hit with a blast of cold air, then struggling to dry off and get dressed while shivering and wishing the shower had never ended. This wonderful invention solves that problem beautifully. Before your shower, just throw your towel (and clothes if you want to go crazy) into the towel warm and hit the button. The Many Roles Of God

We serve a very complex God. I mean, it makes sense that a being who is all-powerful, transcends time and space, and created the entire universe would be complicated. We can’t even comprehend most of His character. Loving but just and forgiving but righteous. And don’t even get me started on the Trinity: Three Persons in one God, able to communicate with each other and have relationships with each other, but part of a whole. No matter how much we want it to be as easy to understand as the three parts of an apple or an egg, we will never be able to grasp the nature of God in…

10 Words That Will Make You Sound Smarter

    1. Plethora Definition: An abundance; many There is a plethora of words out there that mean “many.” Trade out your boring “a lot” and “a ton” for something that will make you sound like you have a plethora of knowledge. 2. Facetious Definition: Humorously flippant If you don’t understand a facetious remark, you can still save face by distracting everyone from your mistake with an impressive word: “I’m sorry, I didn’t realize you were being facetious.” 3. Ambiguous Definition: Vague; uncertain In an ambiguous situation, admit that the answer is ambiguous instead of saying you don’t know. You may not be able to provide information, but you will look smarter…

    What I Learned In Chile

In 2018, I went with a team of 10 on a week-long mission trip to Chile. We stayed with a family in their home on top of a mountain to help them prepare to house orphans. We traveled to the neighboring villages of Hurtado, Coquimbo, and Vicuña to put on church services and show God’s love to the Chilean people. It was an exhausting but beautiful week that taught me a few things about the world we live in and the God we serve. God Is So Big Being a speck in humongous mountains bigger than I could ever have imagined is humbling. Due to travel delays, it took us…
